The IMCSP is primarily designed for graduates from social policy, international development, politics, sociology or other social sciences disciplines and professionals whose work is directly related to social policy formulation, execution and analysis. Graduates and professionals from other backgrounds and who seek to develop their social policy analysis, communication and research skills in a unique international and comparative teaching and learning environment are also encouraged to apply.
IMCSP students will be equipped with the vision, knowledge and research skills welcomed by local and international employers in public, private and third sector organizations engaged in policy analysis, design and advocacy. They will also be well prepared for postgraduate research at the MPhil and PhD level.
An applicant whose degree or, exceptionally, an alternative qualification deemed equivalent is not from a tertiary institution in Hong Kong or an English-speaking country should obtain a minimum score of 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test) or 79 (internet-based test) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), a band score of 6.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or a score of 450 in the College English Test (CET) Band 6, or an equivalent score in a recognised test, or an equivalent qualification to prove his/ her language proficiency which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants should possess an honours degree in any field from a recognized institution.Applicants with other acceptable and equivalent qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.Applicants that have a basic training in philosophy will be given preference. (Note: Applicants with prior training in philosophy should also specify the level attained and provide relevant supporting documents.)
The full-time study mode of the Master of Arts in Practical Philosophy is a 1-year MA taught programme. Students are required to take and pass 8 courses (24 credits) in one academic year in order to graduate from the programme. The maximum period of study is 2 years. Once students have been approved to study in the full-time mode will not be allowed to switch back to the part-time study mode.

The Master of Cultural Studies (MCS) Programme in Lingnan University is the first of its kind in Hong Kong. Launched in September 2003, the Programme runs on a part-time 2-year self-financed basis. Since September 2012, a 1-year full-time mode will be introduced. The MCS is thematically focused, critically challenging and pedagogically original.

The MSc in Work and Organizational Psychology Programme is offered and managed by the Department of Applied Psychology, Lingnan University. This full-time programme will begin in fall 2017. The normal duration for the programme is one year full time. The Programme focuses on the core elements of modern work and organizational psychology. Offers applied psychology courses including personnel psychology, organizational psychology, occupational health psychology, psychology of IT in the workplace, and interpersonal skills in organizations. It aims to prepares students for a career in managerial positions particularly in health care, trainers, human resource managers, organizational consultants, or further studies in the field. Graduates of this programme can apply for Registered Psychologist membership awarded by the Hong Kong Psychological Society (HKPS). Non-local graduates can be granted a one-year extension of visa to search for job.
