最近很多国家和地区都受到高温天气的影响，今天就让我们来学习一些有关天气的词。
首先，我们来讲一下温度的说法。
degree 度
Celsius 摄氏度
Fahrenheit 华氏度
这几天的温度真的已经不能用hot来形容了，那么除了在hot前面加上very, extremely，你还可以说
VERB烤;烘烤
When you roast meat or other food, you cook it by dry heat in an oven or over a fire.
V-ERG（使）达到沸点；（使）沸腾；（使）烧开
When a hot liquid boils or when you boil it, bubbles appear in it and it starts to change into steam or vapour.
确实，烤肉和煮开这样的烹饪用词比较能够表达出我们最近的热。
这种不舒服的热可以用sweltering来形容，还有scorching 烤焦般的热！
VERB热得难受;热得发昏
If you swelter, you are very uncomfortable because the weather is extremely hot.
VERB(轻微地)烫坏，烧糊，烧焦
To scorch something means to burn it slightly.
如果极热可以用煮开（boiling）来形容，那么极冷就可以用结冰freezing来表达。
It’s freezing cold.
当然，我们还要知道温度计thermometer的说法。
thermo+meter = thermometer
ADJ使用热能的;热的
Thermo means using or relating to heat.

A meter is a device that measures and records something such as the amount of gas or electricity that you have used.
接下来我们来说说刮风下雨！让我们从不同的程度来认识这些词。
首先我们最容易想到的是wind ，形容词windy
比wind 更温柔的风叫做breeze，清风徐来，微风拂面就适合用到breeze。
N-COUNT微风；清风
A breeze is a gentle wind.
N-COUNT大风；强风
A gale is a very strong wind.
然后最强的是hurricane/typhoon。
N-COUNT飓风
A hurricane is an extremely violent wind or storm.
由上可见， hurricane（飓风）和typhoon（台风）是同类事物，都算作cyclone（气团），只是形成的位置不同。再来解释一下龙卷风和他们的区别：
N-COUNT龙卷风；大旋风
A tornado is a violent wind storm consisting of a tall column of air which spins round very fast and causes a lot of damage.
飓风和台风在海上形成，龙卷风在陆地形成。
再来说说不同程度的雨。
N-UNCOUNT毛毛雨;蒙蒙细雨
Drizzle is light rain falling in fine drops.
N-COUNT阵雨;(尤指)小阵雨
A shower is a short period of rain, especially light rain.
VERB（雨）倾盆而下，倾泻
When it rains very heavily, you can say that it is pouring.
太多的雨会造成flood，相反会造成drought。
N-VAR洪水;水灾
If there is a flood, a large amount of water covers an area which is usually dry,
for example when a river flows over its banks or a pipe bursts.
N-VAR久旱;旱灾
A drought is a long period of time during which no rain falls.
最后，我们来学习几个常见的和天气有关的俚语！
- a fair-weather friend 酒肉朋友
- come rain or shine 风雨无阻
- it never rains, but it pours. 祸不单行
- under the weather 身体欠佳
